Daily Mail:

‘C’mon guys, I’m going to church’: Obama dodges questions about Obamacare website deadline as he walks to mass with family

U.S. President Barack Obama refused to answer questions about the beleaguered Obamacare website as he walked to church with this family this morning.

The Obamas attended the 11am service at St. John’s Church Lafayette Square, an Episcopal congregation, about a block from the White House, The Hill reported.

When a reporter asked if the troubled Healthcare.gov website will be fixed by November 30, Obama responded: ‘C’mon guys, I’m going to church’.

Obama is not an overtly religious man. He and his family rarely attend church, and he almost never elaborates in public about his own relationship to his Christian faith.

But far away from the public eye, his longtime advisers say, the president has carefully nurtured a sense of spirituality that has served as a grounding mechanism during turbulent times, when the obstacles to governing a deeply divided nation seem nearly insurmountable.

What a load of crap.

First of all, Obama is not Episcopalian (aka the Anglican Church or Church of England). If you want to get (back) in touch with God you don’t show up at a strange church on Sunday morning with an entourage of aides and Secret Service agents along with a gaggle of reporters and photographers trailing behind as well.

THIS WAS A PHOTO-OP. Whenever Obama is getting bad press he and his spin doctors try crap like this to boost his image.

This shit pisses me off even though I’m not particularly religious these days. (I only pray about football games and lottery tickets.) But I was raised in a church that taught that a relationship with God is a deeply personal thing, not a fashion show or PR event.

I really don’t care what religious beliefs and practices the Obama family has. It wouldn’t make a difference to me if he was Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu or Atheist. Honestly, I don’t think he is religious at all – he is his own god. But that’s okay too.

What I find offensive is that he pretends to be religious when it suits him.

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” – Matthew 6:5-6
